Unrest in Northeast India is due to political terrorists

This book is the first of its kind which documents the failure of democracy in India and the authors expresses deep desire to acknowledge the truth, stands for truth, spread the truth to liberate the people from post British Slavery and confer upon them “Civic Sovereignty”.

The book “At War” Four Pillars of Falsehood and Public of Republic,   justifies that Executive, Judiciary, Legislature and the Press are Four Pillars of Falsehood.  As each one of these institutions has been achieving exactly the opposite for which they pretend to be striving for.

After Independence, Northeast States were accorded step motherly treatment in the Constitution of India. Nehruvian integration through the Assam model was another historic blunder as it considered Assam to be the last outpost of the Indian Civilization in the east, followed by giving away Manipur’s Kabaw valley to Myanmar without consulting the people of Manipur.

Naga issue could have solved a long time back if Dictator Nehru studied the political history of Naga Hills, Assam and Manipur.  The failed meeting of 1953 seemed to indicate that no more room left for a compromise or even talks between the Government of India and the Naga leaders. Today, entire Northeast is suffering with the divide and rule policy of successive government.

Seven of India’s Northeastern states facing insurgency since last 60 years in one form or the other, 23 of its states facing left wing extremism, state of Punjab burnt in this fire for a decade and Kashmir continues to simmer in the heat of this war, that state never wants to win but continue, since it provides strongest excuse for using militia with impunity and sustain proxy war of state against its civil society.

The authors blame Nehru politicizing Indian army and using it to silence the political dissent in the State of Assam against Naga Hills.  Even after freedom from British Colonial rule, the colonial Indian military raised on the principles of divisive politics to enslave the natives, turned into effectively handy tool, use Sikhs against Nagas in Nagaland, Gurkhas against Meeteis in Manipur and everyone against Muslims in Kashmir.

Kabaw valley was handed over to Burma (Myanmar), without consulting the people of Manipur and in return Nehru gifted the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) of 1958 to the entire Northeastern States of India, which empowers even a Lance Naik to shoot and kill anyone on mere suspicion that he may disturb public order, arrest any person under the garb of reasonable suspicion and enter any premises without search warrant. In fact, living with this law is living under the barrel of gun with death just a bullet away. “No Appeal, “No Argument”, No Advocates” but gory street of death for freedom of expression in the state propounded as World’s largest democracy.

“At War” Four Pillars of  Falsehood and Public of Republic  is contemporary history of crisis in India, with tales from conflict and persecution, unleashed upon the people of this nation by authoritative state, as witnessed and analyzed by a frontline operational insider.

The authors states that post British India is engulfed in perpetual war of state on its own public of republic as a design of governance to preserve power formation  that functions on the principles of presenting falsehood as the gospel truth and continue unhindered economic exploitation.

In Manipur, 1528 cases of fake encounters, and another hundred more are missing from the Police and Army custody.  Authors warned that the biggest threat to the lives and liberty of people of post British India comes from the work culture of police, paramilitary and military, with lives being devoured with impunity.  These victims depend on “Judiciary”, the last hope of those, who believe to live within frame work of rule of law.

The authors advocates that the only direct and indirect beneficiaries of spiraling crime and corruption, turned to be Police and Judiciary – thus flourishes the mutual relationship between crime and “Pillars of Falsehood”.

The book is a firsthand account and analysis of tragic events of the role played by police and armed forces, functioning of which provokes conflict, and prepares fertile ground for terrorism and insurgency to prosper and vicious cycle of violence through retributive justice continues, with a heavy price being paid by common man with his life and liberty in peril.

The authors blames that “Executive” pillar of democracy, manned by dumb babus of IAS/IPS without any domain expertise, devoid of problem solving aptitude and devoid of organizing abilities.  Ironically, most of the babus posted in the Northeast states don’t know the geographical and political history of the region.

The author have worked as a front line operation officer of BSF and posted in the towns and villages of North, Northeast and Western India. This book represents the eyewitness account of the grotesque scenes of violence as a fall out of ill trained criminalized militia.

The author also suggest to liberate citizens from the shackles of colonial laws and institutions and redefine citizen’s relationship with the state, that of a sovereign, the independent, to whom every state actor is directly accountable.

In the book, a chapter titled, “The Freedom of 1947- Plot, Traitors and treacheries” exposed everything which needs to be informed to the youths of Nation. Masses that had played foot soldiers with huge sacrifices were overnight transformed from Colonial slaves to petitioners at the mercy of autocratic power formation assumed by Nehru.

This book highlighted the pitfalls and tales of existing Indian institutions in general and armed forces and their role in particular, in provoking the ongoing political crisis into full blown insurgent violence in the Country.

This is an honest effort to inform the common man “why it is happening” and to prepare public opinion as a sequel to the campaign for much needed radical but democratic structural changes India has been longing for!

Journey of a Thousand Miles Starts with a Small Step

"For one woman Isharat, Parliament rocks, for those 1528 fake encounters, nothing moved. Nothing wrong in saying “Manipur, an occupied land of India and controlled by AFSPA. Those who think this Act is right, come and stay here for a week."

Who wants AFSPA in Manipur? Even the lawmakers and those using this draconian act of Colonial  British  era won’t like AFSPA in Manipur!

Why Irom Chanu Sharmila is left all alone to be the crusader against AFSPA in the World? What is the use of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in Manipur  when AFSPA is here to finish our proud race?

Morally and emotionally I was supporting Iche Sharmila all these days, without joining any LUP or Organisations in the past. I am fortunate to spread the cause of Iche through my film “School Karusi” so that the world knows about her struggle. Hopefully the only filmmaker in the region who can feature Iche in a Manipuri film.

Some opportunists have associated with Iche and got personal benefits. Many have come and went in solidarity with Irom Sharmila. Several NGOs based in different parts of the Country came with awards; some also came to take a memory photo with the anti AFSPA crusader. But those people never last long. They shouted, write once or twice and left Iche to fight the battle alone.

Some are fed up to see Iche,  some annoyed to hear her name in their busy and tensed lifestyle. Indeed, Iche journey of saving this race from extinct now is all alone, in solitude.

No one have a moment to think that her struggle is not her herself, but for the future generations and Nation called Manipur.

A campaign was run in Twitter when Iche was released for a brief hour. I am happy to share the number of engagements (2530) and impressions (20,500) for the two hashtags #SaveSharmila and #RepealAFSPA, which means around 21,000 tweeple have seen the campaign and out of these, 2500 people have retweeted, liked or Commented on the Tweets, supporting Iche’s Struggle.

This is my humble contribution and stand in solidarity with Iche. This will continue in coming days also.

Instead of playing politics over her struggle, we should support her sincerely and follow her footsteps. Journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step! Almost 15 years of struggle! Will it be justice on our part to be left in solitude now?

We want a voice, a strong voice to reach the goal now!

Lotus in winters of Manipur

Historic wins of BJP in Kakching Municipal By-election

The state BJP has a reason to smile now. BJP created history by winning Kakching Municipal by-election, defeating Congress candidate. Few months back, BJP in Manipur was humiliated for it could not win a single Lok Sabha seat, despite fielding two most qualified candidates.

The party itself started blame games within the party for not converting MODI wave which swept entire Nation in the early months of 2014.  But this time, it silenced all; rather, it shocked the ruling Congress government.  The motto "New Hope, new Manipur" is helping BJP gaining popularity in the state.

By-election to Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency will be a game changer for BJP Manipur. The wise voter of this Constituency has strong faith in Shri Narendra Modi and they understand that BJP is the only hope for them. Several voters say Ibobi era has end. If they elect a Congress MLA, he has to go to Delhi and beg to BJP ministries. Then why shouldn't we vote for the BJP who can work with Modi and be a part of governance!

MODI waves which reached every corner of the Nation, from Ladakh to Andamans, from Kutch to Tawang have reached Manipur too. The Congress government is in power for the last 13 years, and 47 sitting Congress MLAs (5 of which defected to the Congress from MSCP). This have stand like a high wall for BJP in roads in the state.

Voting Percentage of Political Parties in the last General Election in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency:

BJP got 14.42 percent votes share. This is 8% increased as from the last elections in 2009. This is clear sign of people accepting MODI in the tiny Northeastern states, surrounding by Mountains and hills, so high that no tsunami can reached from the bay of Bengal.

Though the party could not open an account in Manipur, preparations are going on to win every by-elections in Manipur before state Assembly elections in 2017.  State leaders led by Shri Th Choaba Singh, have never accepted the defeat. It is worth mentioning that since the defeat of BJP in Lok Sabha election, state leaders are focusing in the organization and mass enrolment of Karyakartas to fight Congress and bring BJP government in the State.

Kaching Municipal by-election wins shocked the ruling Congress. Now, BJP is trying to win the Hiyanglam By-election which will goes to poll on October 17, 2014. BJP is confident to win few more seats in the by-elections which will be held in early months of 2015, due to the disqualification of some AITC MLAs.

Now, National leaders and  Modi Ministries must initiated the process of bringing a lasting solutions to Naga-peace talks, final decision on tribal rights (6th Schedule), CBI inquiry of the infamous  Loktak Scams which allegedly involve the Congress Chief Minister,  controversy surroundings Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA, 1958) and border fencing controversies which were taken up during the UPA regime.

Coupled with the development policies of Shri Narendra Modi ji and Union Budget which are more focused on Northeast states, development plan for the National Highways, railway projects and Sports Universities, BJP is confident of lotus blooming in winters of Manipur soon. We can see lotus blooms even in the hills of Manipur and Northeast region under the good governance of Shri Narendra Modi ji.

Proud moment of BJP Manipur, Smt S Premita Devi won the Kakching Municipal by-election, defeating Congress Candidate.

I want to live like you all, enjoying every rights bestowed by Constitution

I am not asking to repeal the Draconian Law called AFSPA from Manipur, nor campaign to save Sharmila. However, I would like to inform the world and particularly to those who supports this Licence to Kill Act.

I woud like each of you to know how we, as citizen of free India have been struggling like the Indians during British rule!  India got freedom but Manipur never tasted this freedom in terms of  our rights to live.

There are 1528 recorded cases of victims suffering from AFSPA. Thousands more unrecorded cases are waiting for justice. One more thing, we dont support insurgents and terrorist.  Like you,  we want to enjoy every rights given by Indian Constitution which you all are getting.

To those lawmakers, defence personels and politicians justifying AFSPA must remained in Manipur to tackle 40 plus insurgent groups in Manipur, will they give a reply why AFSPA breed insurgents in the state. From one or two groups to 40s AFSPA doing its job by grooming insurgents today.

How many lives have been lost, mimed and disappeared in the curtail of AFSPA? How many youths have been diverted from the mainstream? How many innocent have taken up arms to revenge the culprits? Will AFSPA reply to the Indians why Manipuri are living in Occupied land of Army, like Kashmiri Pandits living in Exile Land.

A 15-year-old girl carrying lunch for her father to his workplace, a mother putting her baby to sleep at home, a  woman waiting for her bus at a busy marketplace and spectators at a volleyball match are some of the innocent
victims of rape and revenge killings by services personnel under the cover of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Manipur.

The details of the crimes allegedly committed by the Army, the CRPF and police commandos were revealed in a series of inquiry reports filed by serving and retired district judges, adding impetus to the cry for justice and repeal of AFSPA by activist Irom Sharmila. On August 8, 2014, the Manipur government handed over the reports to a Supreme Court Bench led by Justice Ranjan Gogoi.

The Bench is hearing a PIL petition filed in 2012 by the Extra Judicial Executions Victims’ Families Association, through senior advocate Colin Gonsalves, seeking a Special Investigation Team to probe almost 1,590 cases of alleged
extra-judicial killings and disappearances in the State since the 1980s.

These inquiries, commissioned by the State government and the Guwahati High Court, date back to 1985. One report by M. Manoj Kumar Singh, District Judge, Imphal East, is about the rape of a 15-year-old schoolgirl committed by two Army personnel of the 12th Grenadier on October 4, 2004. The victim committed suicide the same day. The judge noted that “crimes against women, more particularly relating to sexual harassment, committed by armed forces, are now increasing at least in some States like ours.”

The report said: “They [armed forces] think themselves placed at the elevated status of impunity by the legislation and think wrongly they are given licence to do whatever they like.” Another report by C. Upendra Singh, a retired district judge, investigated the death of Amina, a young mother shot by CRPF personnel while putting her baby to sleep at home. The report said she died when a CRPF party, in pursuit of a man, entered Naorem village, surrounded Amina’s house and fired indiscriminately.

Similarly, Judge Manoj Kumar Singh investigated the shooting of Yumnam Robita Devi, 52, on April 9, 2002 as she waited for a bus at Pangei Bazar. A passing convoy of CRPF personnel was ambushed by insurgents. In retaliation, the report said, the personnel turned to the civilians and fired indiscriminately.
Ms. Devi, who ducked on the floor of the market, was spotted and shot dead.
