Door to door campaign will make Swachh Bharat Abhiyan successful. We would be handling the brooms and dustbins to people to clean their surrounding first!
The Social Initiative MODIfied Northeast India’s Swachh Bharat in Manipur under the theme “Clean Our Surrounding First” is gaining popularity in the hill districts of the State. The Initiative has been informing Clarion call of Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
Even though the whole Nation is informed of Swachh Bharat by Ministries and Departments like Public Health Engineering Department in Manipur are spending government money in organising public meeting on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, #MyCleanIndia is not implemented practically. Roads and the market place in Imphal cities are filled with garbage. Government offices Toilets do not listen to Swachh Bharat Call.
Celebrities came with #PaidMedia to capture the candid moments of picking up brooms only. The message is not able to strike cord with the common people. There is no sign of cleanliness and habit of keeping our surrounding clean in Manipur.
We have heard of government machinery organizing meetings, putting up big hoardings, billboards and even broadcast 2 minute promo advertisements in Cable news here in Manipur. However, like any other government programs, result and impact report prepared in the official tables. For some the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign was over.
Earlier, responding to the Clarion Call of Swachh Bharat by Shri Narendra Modi, we created a facebook event called “Clean Our Environment First” where 152 facebook users join us in cleaning their rooms and surroundings. We have been challenging the Common people who are supporting the great mission of Shri Narendra Modi without the notice of the Ministries.
To give more impact of this great Mission in Manipur, #MODIfied Northeast India recently started “Door to Door” campaign. Our volunteers are visiting every home and asked the family members to clean up the mess they could see. This way maximum participation is possible.
“We are not celebrities, but we are followers of Narendra Modi. Do you know Prime Minister of India? He asked us to check your home. Keep your surrounding cleans,” Pamreiphy and Wormila from Ukhrul District of Manipur knocked every home. They have managed to challenge more than 100 family members till now.
Similarly, in the Imphal Valley, Chanam Khamba from Thiyam in Imphal East district is touring his village to keep the surrounding cleans.
MODified Northeast India received more than 70 activities photographs and expecting to influence more than 500 family members soon. Next year, we would be distributing dust bins to few selected members to continue the Campaign of Swachh Bharat in Manipur.
